As mentioned earlier, arthritis
is the most commonly diagnosed cause of painful joints. There are different
types of arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune disorder, causes
pain and stiffness in the joints. Osteoarthritis is a form of arthritis
that involves growth of bone spurs and degeneration of cartilage at
the site of a joint. Another type of arthritis that is associated with
joint pain is Septic Arthritis.
Another of the major causes
of joint pain is injuries. When the joint is injured, swelling will
occur and this is often accompanied by pain. When joint pain is caused
by injury, you should apply an ice pack to the affected area and then
see a doctor. Your doctor will want to perform a series of tests and
x-rays to determine the extent of your injury.
No matter what causes your
joint pain, you need some relief. You can buy a variety of products,
such as those found on this page (scroll up). Over the counter medications
may work as well. Just make sure that you talk to your doctor before
you buy or start using any type of joint pain relief medication or supplement.
